Study Names Myrtle Beach Amongst Top 10 Small Cities in America

It should come as no surprise then that Resonance Consultancy, a group of advisors specializing in economic development, real estate, and tourism, has named the city of Myrtle Beach amongst America’s top 10 best small cities.

Study Methodology

Every year, Resonance Consultancy ranks over 100 cities across the United States in six key categories: People, Place, Product, Programming, Promotion, and Prosperity. These factors are combined with core statistics for perception shaping quantitative measures, such as the number of corporate head offices in a city, to determine the top 50 large cities and the top 50 small cities in the United States.

Results

The city of Myrtle Beach ranked 9^th overall in the list of America’s top 50 small cities; ranking 3^rd in terms of Promotion and 4^th in terms of Product. The city also ranked 1^st in the country for the subcategory of attractions and 2^nd for Facebook check-ins.

 “Myrtle Beach is a funhouse”, the study said, “both in the water and out. With so much to see and do, it’s no wonder that the city lands at #1 for Attractions.”

The study went on to say, “If the weather is almost always pleasant at the beaches, the climate for business is even better. Myrtle Beach is one of the fastest-growing small cities in the country; and, already home to 25 international companies, it’s in the Top 10 for foreign direct investment.”

Honolulu, Hawaii claimed the top spot on the top 50 small cities list, with Charleston, SC coming in a close second.
