SOUTHERN SUNRISE PANCAKE HOUSE – ONE OF THE BEST BREAKFAST RESTAURANTS IN NMB

Touted by many locals and tourists as “the best breakfast restaurant in North Myrtle Beach or Myrtle Beach,” Southern Sunrise Pancake House is located at 3407 Highway 17 South in the Windy Hill Section of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  It is a relatively new restaurant which opened only six years ago, but it has already made a name for itself as having delicious food, great service and a family atmosphere.

This is not surprising since Spiro Geladakis, the owner, grew up working in an excellent, family-owned and operated restaurant as well.  His father owns Kings Famous Pizza, which is also known for its great food, service, and atmosphere and is located right across the parking lot.  As you’ll read below, tourists renting our fabulous Myrtle Beach real estate feel it is worth the drive to North Myrtle Beach to eat at Southern Sunrise Pancake House.

Kenneth K reviews: “This place is AWESOME! The best pancake house in Myrtle Beach!  We always go here for breakfast, even if we have to drive out of our way.  The staff is always friendly, the place is always very clean, and the food is great!  They also own King’s Pizza next door.  GREAT pizza and the best cheesecake on this planet!!!”

Southern Sunrise Pancake House has an extensive breakfast menu starting with their egg platters.  You can get one, two or three eggs cooked any style with any one of the following meats:  Sausage, turkey sausage, bacon, Virginia ham, Canadian bacon, smoked sausage, corned beef hash, grilled pork chops, grilled chicken breast, country ham or an 8 ounce ribeye grilled to perfection.  If you really want to go Southern, you can get your eggs with either country fried steak or country fried chicken topped with sausage gravy. Their Golfers Special with both bacon and sausage is very popular, but if you are very hungry, the Southern Sunrise special is for you. This filling breakfast, appropriately nicknamed, “The Hungry Man’s Special,” comes with three eggs, grits or home fries, two bacon strips, two sausage links and country ham, and one biscuit with gravy.  As our visitors renting North Myrtle Beach real estate stated below, it is a great idea to stop at Southern Sunrise Pancake House for breakfast before you leave our beautiful city and beach.

Lisa H., “We stopped in for breakfast this morning and were greeted with a smile.  The service was amazing and the food was awesome.  We will definitely be going back.  The prices were great and the portions were big.  Highly recommended.”

Changley C., “We stopped here for breakfast before heading back home and met some family.  Our waitress was super friendly, there was quite a bit to choose from on the menu and the food was good!”

All of Southern Sunrise Pancake House’s omelets are made with three eggs and served with grits and toast or two pancakes.  They have 17 different omelets listed on their menu, but you can also create your own custom omelet using any of their listed ingredients.  Some of their more creative omelets are the Hawaiian omelet made with ham, pineapple, swiss cheese and tomatoes; the corned beef hash omelet made with corned beef hash and cheddar cheese; the cordon bleu omelet made with diced chicken breast, ham and swiss cheese; and of course, the Greek omelet made with tomatoes, spinach, onions, olives and barrel feta cheese.  Apparently, some customers feel that Southern Sunrise has the best omelets on the beach as Julie states below:

“The best omelets in North Myrtle Beach, Kings omelet and Greek omelet served with real potato home fries.  We also had the pleasure of tasting their famous fruit buttermilk pancakes smothered with fresh strawberries and blueberries that are seasonal.  Best Southern breakfast we ever had!! Very friendly staff, clean and pleasant atmosphere!”

Southern Sunrise also has eight varieties of eggs benedict which includes Eggs Florentine made with toasted English muffin topped with sautéed spinach, Canadian bacon, 2 poached eggs topped with Hollandaise sauce served with grits or one pancake.  Two of the more exotic eggs benedict entrees have a beach flavor—the Salmon benedict made with toasted English muffin topped with (chilled, raw) smoked salmon, two poached eggs, and Hollandaise sauce and the Crab Cake benedict made with toasted English muffin topped with crab cakes, 2 poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.  Southern Sunrise also has two Eggs Benedict entrees made with a Southern flair—the Dixie Benedict and the Country Benedict made with homemade buttermilk biscuits instead of a toasted English muffin.  It appears that tourists renting our Myrtle Beach Real Estate can get as excited about Southern Sunrise’s Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine as some of the other attractions in North Myrtle Beach as illustrated below:

Billie R., “Best Eggs Benedict….Hands down….Everything is fresh….Always.  The staff is great and the place is unbelievably clean…”

Julie G., “I have to say, Southern Sunrise has the most awesome breakfast in NMB! I am very happy we stopped there!  Eggs Florentine is to die for.  Definitely a must try!”

To round out their breakfast menu, Southern Sunrise serves delicious pancakes and Belgian waffles made with chocolate chips or pecans or bananas and nuts or fresh fruit.  You can also order French toast or a breakfast sandwich.  Senior’s and kid’s menus are available as well.

If you are not in the mood for breakfast, Southern Sunrise serves lunch with a selection of gourmet sandwiches featuring the Famous Gyro sandwich made with grilled thin slices of beef and lamb nested in a hot pita bread with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, parsley and tzatziki sauce.  The lunch menu includes a selection of sandwiches, a variety of salads as well as list of lunch entrees with sides.  If you are looking for a great meal, both tourist and locals agree that Southern Sunrise is the place to go as stated below:

Cat B: “We eat here often on Sunday mornings.  The food is always great as is the service.  Always look forward to returning.”

Asa B: “Never had a bad meal.  Highly recommend and if you’re in the mood for great pizza or subs they also have Kings Pizza next door.”

Southern Sunrise is owned and operated by Spiro Geladakis who was born in Worchester, Massachusetts.  His parents, who own Kings Famous Pizza, came to the United States from Greece shortly after they were married and worked at the Holy Cross College as a baker and a waitress.  They saved their money to buy their own restaurant among beautiful North Myrtle Beach real estate.  Spiro grew up working in their restaurant during his youth, so he is very knowledgeable and has the skills that is necessary to create one of the best breakfast restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area.

Spiro attended the North Myrtle Beach schools, and when he graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School, he attended Coastal Carolina College, which is approximately five miles outside of Myrtle Beach, SC where beautiful Myrtle Beach Real Estate for sale is abundant.  He earned a degree in Business Management and continued to work in the family business, Kings Famous Pizza, in North Myrtle Beach until the opportunity to buy the North Myrtle Beach real estate for sale adjacent to Kings arose.

Spiro had a brainstorm which turned out to be a great idea.  He suggested that his family buy the North Myrtle Beach real estate for sale and build a breakfast restaurant on it.  He would own and operate the breakfast restaurant, and the parking lot would be available to Kings Famous Pizza during the hours that Kings was serving dinner and the breakfast restaurant was closed. The next morning when Kings Famous Pizza was closed and Southern Sunrise Pancake House was open, Southern Sunrise would utilize both parking lots.  It was a win-win for both businesses and all in the family.  Southern Sunrise has become well known for its delicious food, great service, clean establishment and fair prices.  They also treat their guests like family and are compassionate during Hurricane season.  This is the opinion visitors renting Myrtle Beach real estate and locals living in North Myrtle Beach real estate as stated below:

Helena S. says, “After the hurricane, my family (2 children, one 8, one 9 months) had our first hot meal here after 4 long days.  Not only was food and servicer amazing, our server was offering everyone to stay as long as they needed to charge phones. Their hospitality I will always remember and instead of Dino’s, IHOP, and other breakfast places my family will come to Southern Sunrise Pancake house from now on.  Thank you so much!”

Sara K: “The best pancake house in all of Myrtle Beach!  Even when we stay down in the south end of Myrtle, we make the drive up to have breakfast here!  It’s awesome!  The French toast is my absolute favorite! The restaurant is always clean and the staff treats you like family!  Can’t wait to come back this summer.”

After such glowing reviews from both locals living in Myrtle Beach Real Estate and tourists renting North Myrtle Beach Real Estate, Southern Sunrise Pancake House sounds like a must-try dining experience.  You can view the menu at www.southernsunrisepancakes.com or call them at 843-361-4080 for take-out if you are in a hurry to visit our beautiful North Myrtle Beach beaches.
