Rip Tydz Oceanfront Grille

Opening on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, the summer of 2017, Rip Tydz Oceanfront Grille, located at 1204 North Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is within a block of the SkyWheel.  Built to look like “a modern interpretation of a pier, it is one of a kind with three levels connected by a really cool tower.

Jim Hubbard, the architect on the project, said “There’s really nothing like this in the city of Myrtle Beach right now.” There is both enclosed and outdoor covered space on the first level, which is raised off of the ground to prevent flooding, and both spaces have their own bar.  The third bar is located on the roof top.

Catering to millennials, it is designed for families to feel comfortable as well as people just walking in off of the beach.  It is also designed to entertain the night-time social customer as it has live music on the second floor and a DJ on the third-floor rooftop.  It is a restaurant, a beach bar, and a nightclub all in one building with over 17,000 square feet, 500 seats and an amazing oceanfront view.  According to Rebecca D below, you can’t beat the view!

“You can’t beat the view at this place!! Right off the boardwalk, sitting up high, enjoying the ocean breeze, watching the waves crash all while enjoying some delicious seafood! My husband and I shared the “low country shrimp boil”. It was MORE than enough for the two of us. It came with a pound and a half of shrimp, 4 pieces of golden delicious corn on the cob, some potatoes and kielbasa. It was smothered in a finger licking good garlic butter sauce with old bay seasoning. Yummy! We sat outside to enjoy the gorgeous weather. Inside is Beaudoin and pristine. I love the decor and style of the place. The bathrooms were very clean and smelled fresh. There’s even corn hole game and volleyball set up downstairs in the sand.”

Rip Tydz Oceanfront Grille & Rooftop Bar is an exciting, new oceanfront restuarant like no other on the world-famous Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.  Taking more than four years to build, it is a one-of-a-kind dining experience, built to have spectacular views on all three levels.  It has something for everyone including corn hole, volley ball and complimentary valet parking.  Dennis L seems to be really impressed per his review below:

“This is a recent addition to the Myrtle Beach shoreline.  They are still working on the site, finishing up some trim items. The three story structure has a 2nd floor interior bar boasting pretty cool looking 3D wave artwork on the wall. Step out onto the outside deck where there is plenty of seating and a nice ocean view.  There is a full bar outside as well as a small stage area for live music.  The third floor has another bar and music area.  The highlight was our server Jantzen, who made the visit fun and was always checking on us. Overall the beautiful upscale environment and terrific staff made this visit worth it. Will come back again to see how the place progresses.”

Illyana also had great things to say about it, “Check this place out!!! What an AWESOME new place!! I went there with my dad, brother, and brother-in-law today. The view is breath-taking and nothing like in Myrtle Beach. The bartender, Greg was fantastic! He provided excellent service and made it a wonderful experience for us. He recommended the Crabby Grilled Cheese, and my family couldn’t stop raving about it. I got the spinach salad with blackened shrimp, and it was so delicious and fresh. We will DEFINITELY be coming back!!

Rip Tydz is not only beautiful with a great view, it also has great food with a more expansive menu than other options on Ocean Boulevard.  The Riptydz menu Myrtle Beach South Carolina includes fresh seafood, prime steaks, fried food, fresh local favorites, and a raw bar.  Customers are raving about the oceanfront views, the service, the atmosphere and the food as stated below:

Jay S.—” This is an awesome new place on the ocean.  Multi level with indoor and outdoor seating.   Plenty of ocean views and the food is good.  Service is always good and you are not rushed nor ignored.    All in all a great place.    The main floor is actually one level up.   Stairs from the main road and beach are available,as well as an elevator for folks who can use a little assistance.   Great place”

Doug P—”We stopped by for an early happy hour and left very impressed. The space is stunning and worthy of Miami Beach or Long Beach and our service was first class at the roof top bar. We ordered three appetizers; chicken spring rolls, shrimp and calamari and all were tasty and served with good sauces. The raw bar plates that passed us looked amazing.”

Michael L—” Best place in Myrtle by a long shot. Massive building with state of the art finishes and a creative layout. Was in the area for 4 days in late September and wound up coming back every day throughout my visit. Great food, very cool atmosphere, great drinks, super reasonable RipTydz prices, awesome view and the staff was top notch. A gentleman named Brian who apparently was the GM stopped by to check in on us and when he heard it was my Bachelor Party treated my party to a round on him. Stellar spot.

Based on all of the reviews and articles, we have seen, Rip Tydz Oceanfront Grill and Rooftop bar is a “must try” dining experience and it seems that the drinks are delicious and the bartenders friendly.  Maybe we should try RipTydz Happy Hour.  We will leave you with this last rave review by Katrina W about the bar service and a parting recommendation.

“This review is for drinks only. This place is so fun! My husband and I were walking around trying to find a place to grab a drink around 9pm on our first night in myrtle. Enter the flashing lights of RipTydz. This place is out of this world! The architecture is open, fun, and has multiple stories. We initially did a walk around of the top floor which was already popping with dancing and a DJ. We didn’t see any seats so we headed down to the 2nd floor which is more of a restaurant with an additional outside bar. We sat at the inside bar and our bartender was a hoot. Both of the bartenders were talking to us and letting us try different drink concoctions they were making. Our evening here was one of my favorite memories of our myrtle trip. I had a mojito and a frozen strawberry banana pina colata, both were excellent. They also have adult capri suns and fishbowls that I’m sad we didn’t try. If you want to have a fun time at the beach for drinks, check out RipTydz!
