Oktoberfest at The Market Common

Held in Munich, Germany, Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival. Small towns and villages gather together to celebrate their heritage at Oktoberfest along with over six million guests from all over the world. Over 200,000 pairs of pork sausage and 480,000 spit-roasted chickens along with 1.5 million gallons of beer are consumed over the 16-day party.

Myrtle Beach brings a smaller version of the Bavarian Holiday to the Market Common on October 13 – 14, 2017. Oktoberfest Myrtle Beach 2017 will feature German food, German music, and of course German beer. The vendors will be serving sausages, Wiener Schnitzel, and bratwursts along with all the other traditional German favorites. Of course, there will also be some American cuisine for those who prefer it.

The Myrtle Beach Beer Fest 2017 will have microbreweries rolling out their special autumn brews for Oktoberfest and as in the past, visitors can purchase special tasting steins to sample them all. There will also be many craft breweries as well as popular domestic and imports. Market Common’s Oktoberfest will have events for the specifically designed for the children such as face painting, special fall games, and inflatable playgrounds. There will also be a special pumpkin patch set up so the children can carve their own pumpkins.
The live German music will include polka and oompah bands as well as quartets. The schedule for the Oktoberfest entertainment is as follows:

FRIDAY, October 13th

TBD – 730 – 9 pm

SATURDAY, October 14th
Channelheimer Oompah German Band — 11 am – 12 pm
Bang-A-Rang – 12 pm – 1 pm
Channelheimer Oompah German Band – 1 pm – 2 pm
Bang-A-Rang – 2 – 3 pm
Channelheimer Oompah German Band 3 – 4 pm
Painted Man – 4 pm – 6:30 pm
