John grew up in Spartanburg, South Carolina. His father was in car sales and finance while John was young, and when John grew up, he decided to become an entrepreneur. He bought and sold cars independently, and later decided to move on to selling more expensive items such as houses, which led to him going to school to become a beach real estate agent.
