Myrtle Beach Real Estate Agent – Courtney Walker

Hello again!!  We are back to introduce you to Courtney Walker, an up-and-coming beach real estate agent, that has transitioned into a new role with our Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living team in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Before Courtney became a real estate agent with our company, she was our Talent Attraction Coordinator, and she proved to be excellent in that position.

Courtney was very successful in recruiting a good number of agents, both new and seasoned, to join our team.  Having witnessed her drive, perseverance and success in her former position, we have no doubt that Courtney will prove to be even more successful as she builds her own real estate business with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living as her partner.

Courtney’s parents were successful real estate agents in Surfside Beach, South Carolina where Courtney and her family resided until she was thirteen years old.  Her family really enjoyed living on the Grand Strand, but a great opportunity arose for her father to become the owner of an established Real Estate Company in Albany, Georgia—his hometown.

So, they moved to Georgia where Courtney graduated from high school and attended Valdosta State University, earning a degree in Psychology.  When Courtney graduated from college, her father was also building custom homes to complement his real estate business.  Courtney decided to go back to school to get her Georgia Real Estate License and partner with her dad—selling real estate for two years and building custom homes together for an additional three years.

In 2010, Courtney moved back to the Grand Strand area and became the Public Relations Director for Greg Norman Champions’ Golf Academy and also procured tournament sponsorships.  This was a perfect position for Courtney due to her outgoing personality and ability to interact with people positively.  Also, she is still a beach girl at heart, never losing the sand in her shoes.

In 2017, due to changes in her job responsibilities at Greg Norman, she decided to apply for a position with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living, and we are glad she did.  Courtney was invited to join our team, and the outcome was positive for all involved.

Courtney has one son that just graduated from Myrtle Beach High School, and he will be attending Belmont University in Tennessee.  She enjoys playing tennis, although it is difficult for her to find time in her busy schedule.  She also loves to spend time with her family and enjoys reading.  Let’s find out how Courtney feels about her budding real estate business.

Q:  Courtney, why did you decide to transition from Talent Attraction Coordinator with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living to partner with us as a real estate agent?

A:  My family has always been in the real estate business, and I grew up around it every day as a child.  Although I did not realize it at the time, I absorbed quite a bit of knowledge from that environment.  After college, I worked with my dad for several years and really enjoyed the real estate business.  After being out of the business for a while, I realized that I really miss the excitement of helping someone find the best house possible for their needs and getting them into the home of their dreams at the best price possible.  I am really passionate about that aspect of the business.

Q:  There are many real estate agencies located in North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, and along the Grand Strand, but you chose Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living.  Why?

A:  I chose Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living because I believe they are the best company in the real estate business.  Better Homes and Gardens is a brand that is well known for excellent quality.  Having worked with the company for the past 1.5 years, I know that they have a lot to offer their clients as well as their agents.  I have also witnessed first hand the family values and atmosphere of the environment in the office, and I want to remain a part of that.   Another important reason is that they work with their agents to make sure that we are trained on the latest technology and have all the tools at our disposal that we need to make buying or selling a property the best experience possible for our clients.

Q:  How will you market yourself to a potential client that causes them to choose you as their agent?

A:  I will market myself through social media and networking with the North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach Chamber functions emphasizing my sales experience and skills as a former Public Relations Agent.  I have learned to work with all different types of personalities, and I have also learned that one of the most important things that I can do as a real estate agent is to listen to what my clients want and need when they are in the market for a home or attempting to sell their property.

Q:  What assets do you have that will contribute to your success as a beach real estate agent to?

A:  I am outgoing, organized, driven, and I have a lot of energy.  I also have a great deal of perseverance and a need to be prepared for any business meeting or transaction that I am involved in.  I feel that these traits will be a great asset to me when dealing with my clients in the real estate business by helping to take a lot of the stress out of the search.   By listening to what my clients want in a home and doing what I need to do to be well prepared, I will be able to narrow down the search, and show them only the homes that meet their specifications.  This should make the process of purchasing real estate more efficient and less stressful for my clients.

Q:  Now that you are a North Myrtle Beach Real Estate Agent, what do you like best about the job?

A:  I really enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them.  I also love helping them fulfill their dream of buying a home.  By the end of the process, I feel like I have made new friends.

Q:  As a real estate agent at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living in the Myrtle Beach area, you will not have set office hours, so you have to be self motivated.  What motivates you?

A:  I am actually innately motivated by my inner drive to be successful in whatever I do.  I also really enjoy helping others.

Q:  When you list a house for a client in the Myrtle Beach area, what means of marketing will you use to reach other realtors and potential clients?

A:  I will market my clients’ properties through social media, word of mouth, and “just-listed” postcards.  Another great source that I will use is the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) which is a free service to find real estate MLS listings for sale by Realtors® and other realty professionals.  By utilizing MLS, clients and realtors can find homes for sale–new homes, resale homes, and new construction.  It is one of the most efficient ways to get the news out about new listings.

Q:  How will you create your client base as a Myrtle Beach Real Estate Agent?

A:  Throughout the years, I have formed many relationships and partnerships through previous employment.  I plan to network with them to get the word out that I am now a real estate agent and would love to help anyone that is searching for a new property or ready to sell their property through the process as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Q:  What do you think will be the most rewarding aspect of your job as a real estate agent for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living in Myrtle Beach?

A:  The most rewarding aspect of my job will be developing relationships with homebuyers that will last and knowing that I was able to be a part of one of the most important decisions that people make in their lifetime—buying the home of their dreams.

Courtney has a lot of great personality traits and work skills that will help her be a great real estate agent.  She has both real estate sales experience and homebuilding experience, and she enjoys meeting new people.  With a background in public relations, she knows the importance of listening to people and treating them well.  If you want Courtney Walker to help you buy or sell Myrtle Beach real estate, just call Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living at 843-280-5704, and we will put you in touch with her.
