According to Coastal Living Magazine,  Myrtle Beach is one of “America’s 10 Best Beach Towns for Christmas”.  Myrtle Beach certainly lives up to this moniker during the Christmas Season.  Known for its exceptional year-round entertainment venues and great talent, it is even more spectacular during the Holiday Season.  The theatres, towns, shopping centers, and parks all dress up during this time of year with beautiful Christmas lights, Christmas Displays, extravagant Christmas Light Shows,  and an abundance of Christmas decorations to mesmerize the young and the old.

Grand Strand Holiday Shows 2018:

“The Christmas Show of the South” is celebrating its 33rd season of unforgettable holiday performances.  The 2018 Christmas special brings stunning changes, beautifully blended with time-honored tradition to create a family experience this is second to none as new talent mingles with acclaimed rotating artists and long-standing Opry favorites.  According to CNBC, it is the “Top Attraction in Myrtle Beach” and a holiday tradition for over 30 years.  This beloved Myrtle Beach holiday tradition is the only show that has won every major South Carolina Tourism award including the Governor’s Cup and Most Outstanding Attraction.  The Carolina Opry Christmas Show runs from November 1 – December 31, 2018.

The Carolina Opry Theater closes for one week to transform into a winter wonderland.  The crew spends all night and the entire following week preparing over 35 Christmas trees, 75 wreaths, 5 miles of tree lighting wire, countless tree ornaments, and mounds of Christmas snow with the feature being a stunning 30-feet tree with more than 25,000 lights.  There will be house photographer available for family photos in front of the tree.  For more information on the Carolina Opry Christmas Show 2018, go to

“The South’s Grandest Christmas Show”  was voted the “Most Outstanding Holiday Show” by the Myrtle Beach Herald.  The South’s Grandest Christmas Show presents a combination of exciting acts from talented singers, dancers, comedians and more, all themed around the true meaning of Christmas with audience members of all ages. This southern family tradition offers a spectacular seasonal experience that’s sure to put guests in the holiday spirit.

Also featured in this year’s show will be comedian Ricky Mokel who always puts a new twist on the Christmas season. “Christmas at Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show” Make it a Christmas to remember as the crew retells the Charles dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol, with a swashbuckling spin.  Captain Scrooge and mystical Spirit of Christmas travel to the past, present, and future of Buccaneer Bay.  During this Christmas-themed journey, they encounter such wonders as Christmas toys that come to life and a beautiful live Nativity, complete with wise men and live animals.

“Hot Jersey Nights Christmas Special” at the Asher Theatre is the Grand Strand’s newest Holiday show.  Experience Hot Jersey Nights Christmas style with all the Christmas trees, holly and falling snow needed to make this an experience you do not want to miss.  You will hear the very best and most loved Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons songs of all time with a mixture of all the Holiday Classics you know and love.

“Legends in Concert Presents:  A Rat Pack Christmas”  “Christmas With The Rat Pack & Special Guest Marilyn Monroe,” features Christmas classics such as The Christmas Song, Boogie Woogie Santa Claus, Silent Night, Mary’s Boy Child and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
