Myrtle Beach Marathon 2019


USA Today has rated the Myrtle Beach Marathon as one of America’s “10 great winter marathons”.  The course is described as fast, flat and beautiful.   The marathon is in its’ 22nd year and is one of the fastest and flattest in the country featuring nine beachfront miles.  The Myrtle Beach Marathon features two days of events, including a one-day Health and Wellness Expo, Half Marathon, 5k, and Family Fun Run in addition to the marathon event.  The details for each event are listed below:

Myrtle Beach Marathon 2019, Saturday, March 2, 2019

Location and Time:

Start time: 7:00 AM (6:55 AM for Wheelchair and Crankchair) on Saturday, March 2, 2019.  The Myrtle Beach Marathon will start just South of the intersection of Grissom Parkway and 21st Ave. N, Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Finish Line will be in the parking lot of TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.

Course Information:

Course Map:  https://mbmarathon.com/re/course-maps/  The Myrtle Beach Marathon course will close at 1:30pm (6.5 hours).  Mile markers will be posted at each mile.  The marathon course is USATF Certified (SC10008BS) and is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.

Bicycles, baby strollers, skates, in-line skates, and skate boards are not allowed on the course.

Pacing times are as follows:

3:00 | 3:15 | 3:30 | 3:45 | 4:00 | 4:15 | 4:30 | 4:45 | 5:00 | 5:15 | 5:30

Course Aid Stations:

Water and sports drinks will be available approximately every two miles along the marathon course and at the finish.  Food stations will be available at miles 14 and 22 and at the finish. GU flavors will include Vanilla Bean, Strawberry Banana, Salted Caramel, Tri Berry and Chocolate Outrage.  Port-a-Johns will be available at the start/finish and every 2 – 3 miles along the course.

Awards:

All Marathon finishers will receive a finisher’s Myrtle Beach Marathon medal at the finish line.

Awards will not be mailed. All awards must be picked up after the respective races.


Overall Awards:

Overall awards will go to the top three male and female finishers in the Myrtle Beach Marathon.  Overall awards are based on gun time.  Overall marathon awards will be announced at 11:15 a.m.

Age Group Awards:

Awards will be presented to the top three male and female Myrtle Beach Marathon finishers in the age groups 19 & under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & over. Age group awards are based on chip time.  Participants are eligible for one award only.

Marathon age group awards will be available for pick up after 11:15 a.m. at the Customer Service Tent in Runners Village.

Myrtle Beach Half Marathon 2019, Saturday, March 2, 2019

Location and Time & Finish Locations:

Start time –  7:00am on Saturday, March 2, 2019.  The Half Marathon will start just South of the intersection of Grissom Pkwy & 21st Ave. N, Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Finish Line will be in the parking lot of TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.

Course Information:

Course Map:  https://mbmarathon.com/re/course-maps/  The half marathon course is USATF certified (SC10009BS).  The half marathon course will close at 11:00am (4-hour time limit).  Mile markers will be posted at each mile.  A digital clock at the finish line will display unofficial finishing time.  Bicycles, baby strollers, skates, in-line skates, and skate boards are not allowed on the course.

Pacing times are as follows:

1:30 | 1:45 | 2:00 | 2:15 | 2:30 | 2:45 | 3:00

Course Aid Stations:

Water and sports drinks will be available approximately every 2-3 miles along the course and at the finish.  Port-a-Johns will be available at the start/finish and every 2-3 miles along the course.

Awards:

All Half Marathon finishers will receive a finisher’s medal at the finish line.  Awards will not be mailed.  All awards must be picked up after the respective races.

Myrtle Beach 5k – Saturday, March 2, 2019

Location and Time:

Start time: 8:00 AM on Saturday, March 2, 2019.  The 5k will start along the Boardwalk at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion (just south of Plyler Park).  The Finish Line will be in the parking lot of TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.

5k Parking Information:

Parking for the 5k will be at Broadway at the Beach. From there, runners will take a shuttle to the start which will run consistently from 7am to 7:30am.  Runners staying in nearby beach front hotels will be able to walk to the start line on the Boardwalk.

Family Fun Run _ Saturday. March 2, 2019

What is the distance? Approximately 1 mile

​What is the age requirement? Open to all ages! 

When is the race? Saturday, March 2nd at 1:00 p.m.

Participant Shirts: Each participant will receive a race t-shirt and finisher medal!

The average March weather in Myrtle Beach ranges from 41 degrees to 68 degrees, so why not take advantage of the race location, and make it a “racecation”.  With 60 miles of beautiful beaches, outstanding restaurants, incredible live entertainment venues, and shopping galore, it would be an excellent time to take advantage of the Myrtle Beach Marathon 2019 location and stay for a long weekend.  Good luck and enjoy your time in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
