Hello Again! Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina continues to grow, so we are back to introduce you to another new agent, Maxine Minar. Maxine is new to us, but she is not new to Real Estate Sales. She was a real estate agent in Maryland for three years before she got her real estate license in South Carolina.
Maxine grew up with two brothers and one sister in Ashland, Virginia, which is outside of Richmond, Virginia. Ashland is approximately 350 miles north of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Her mother was a secretary for Hanover County School District, and her father was a residential custom home builder.
While attending Patrick Henry High School, Maxine played basketball and ran track and field. After graduation, she attended the University of Mary Washington and majored in Political Science. One of the more interesting facts about Maxine’s education is that she did an internship with Senator Warner’s campaign. Yes, that is correct—the Senator Warner that was married to Elizabeth Taylor, the famous movie star. During her internship, she and the other interns were invited to Senator Warner’s house for dinner, giving Maxine the opportunity to meet and dine with Elizabeth Taylor. That must have been a sensational experience.
After graduating from college, Maxine went into Publishing and Advertising, making it her career for 30 years. During this time, she met and married her husband, and they had two children—a son and a daughter. Now adults, her son works in group sales and her daughter is a veterinary technician.
Maxine and her husband, a retired DC Police Officer, have been married for 27 years. They became engaged in Myrtle Beach, which makes this area very special for them. At the time that they became engaged, her husband declared that they would one day come here to live. In the interim, they have been visiting the Myrtle Beach area as often as possible, buying a home here four years ago. Her husband is an avid golfer, so he not only came here with Maxine, he and his golfing buddies would come here every February on a golfing trip.
Getting tired of the trip to and from Maryland every few weeks, Maxine and her husband made the decision to move to North Myrtle Beach permanently. Maxine got her South Carolina Real Estate license and came to work for us, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living in North Myrtle Beach. Let’s see how things are going for Maxine as she gets her beach real estate business up and running.
