Looking for a great night out with dining and entertainment in one venue, then you need to check out the House of Blues. Located in Barefoot Landing, the House of Blues has great food, live concerts, a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater and a World-Famous Sunday Gospel Brunch.
Founders Isaac Tigrett and celebrity Dan Aykroyd have been bringing good food and live entertainment to patrons around the country since 1992. Although, the venue is named House of Blues, it plays a variety of music genres. According to DavidB below, the “House of Blues in NMB brings the best bands to the beach”: “I live on the south End of the Grand Strand (South Carolina Coast, North of Georgetown, SC). I have been very happy since the House of Blues came to NMB. On any given week end, in the Winter, Summer, Spring or Fall, you can find great music, at the H.O.B. I have seen Rock bands (Alice in Chains, Jane’s addiction), as well as awesome Country artists (Taylor Swift, Darius Rucker and Lee Brice). The venue is small and allows for general admission and standing right in front of the stage. If you eat at the restaurant, you can get an early entry into the shows. The outside bar often has great local talent for the price of dinner or drinks. H.O.B. has always focused on up and coming artists. Can you imagine seeing artists like Taylor Swift in a venue of less than 2,500 seats? Simply the best music venue, on the Grand Strand! if you like live music, you will love the House of Blues in NMB.” Click here for a list of the House of Blues Myrtle Beach Concerts 2018.
The House of Blues’ décor is influenced entirely by music and art which reflects the ambience of the city where it is located. House of Blues is one of the largest folk art galleries in Myrtle Beach with over 600 pieces of “outsider” art, according to the HOB website. Surrounded by contemporary and traditional southern art, you can enjoy a variety of Southern-delta inspired dishes including Jambalaya and BBQ Baby Back Ribs. Indoor and outdoor dining is seamlessly blended with a lively bar and stage area. Based on LucyM’s review below, the atmosphere is fun and the House of Blues Myrtle Beach menu is great.
“Our group stopping in there over the holiday season! The VooDoo shrimp were the biggest hit of the table. Everybody ordered something different, so we could see what it was like since it was our first time ever eating at a HOB. The portions were very generous! One person ordered the jambalaya and wished it had a little more heat but now knows that for the next time. I had the buttermilk chicken..wow. The atmosphere is fun..our server was a sweetheart and very helpful when we asked questions. When we were leaving we noticed a table had a huge like mini keg of beer? What was that it looked interesting for next time? We will for sure be back..loved everything about HOB!”
The House of Blues also has a World-Famous Sunday Gospel Brunch from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. featuring legendary dining and live music. The buffet includes a carving station, made-to-order omelet station and chicken & waffles station. There are also traditional breakfast and lunch items including: pastries, salads, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, fruit, BBQ chicken, mac n’ cheese, jambalaya and more!
According to Jeff B, the Gospel Brunch was the highlight of his vacation as stated below:“WOW Sunday Gospel Brunch– I am overwhelmed!! This was the highlight of our vacation. Atmosphere was fantastic, food was great, and the music was heavenly. This is the coolest club I’ve ever been to. Our waiter was great, very attentive and fun to talk with. This place is better than church, I hope heaven has a House of Blues, they’re on a mission from God.”
KevinW says the “Gospel Brunch is Worth Every Penny! My family had never done the gospel brunch but we loved it! The immense brunch buffet had many incredible items like cheese grits, fried chicken, biscuits and gravy and so on. The entertainment was exceptional but even more was the interaction with the other people in the crowd. We sat near a group of 14 sorority sisters who danced and sang. So fun!
Don’t forget about the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater which is an interactive comedy dinner show, and you get to solve the murder mystery. Everyone is a suspect and if you figure out who solved the murder, you are rewarded with a prize.
