Holiday Family Traditions from Agents and Staff at BHGRE ECL

The Holiday Season brings many different traditions to the Grand Strand as well as into your own home.  One of the first traditions that we see is the decorating of trees, boats, houses, shopping centers, streets and towns.  The Christmas Shows along the Grand Strand are another favorite holiday tradition for many families as well as the Christmas parades and tree lightings.

Another popular Christmas tradition for families is the annual visit to Santa as well as Christmas pictures of the family that we might want to send to family and friends via Christmas cards.  It is traditional for many families to play Christmas music during December, watch Christmas movies, and of course, wrap and exchange Christmas gifts.

Many of us start our Christmas Eve celebrations with the Christmas Eve Candle Light service to celebrate Christ’s birth.  From there, we move on to our personal celebrations with friends and family which probably includes the reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and tucking the children into bed to wait for Saint Nick to visit.  Then it is time for the family Christmas traditions for adults.

Let’s find out what traditions are celebrated by our Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living team…

Ron Jackson, Broker in Charge, Better Homes and Gardens RealEstate Elliott Coastal Living—“We attend Candle Light Service ChristmasEve.  Afterwards, we gather at my parents’house with my sisters and their families to eat, exchange gifts and play games.”

Leah Haywood, Real Estate Agent, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“We attend the Christmas Eve Candle Light service at my sister-in-law’s church.  Then we all meet at her house, play dirty Santa, eat too much, and enjoy our family time together.”

Janna Nance, Real Estate Agent, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“Up until a few years ago, my mama, sisters and I stayed up all night on Christmas Eve at my parents’ home.  On Christmas morning, we would have a big breakfast, open presents, have lunch and take a nap.”

Sue Kobiela, Real Estate Agent, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“On Christmas Eve, we open one present each and have a big dinner.  Christmas mornings, we could open stockings before parents get up, but we had to wait until they got up to open the rest of the gifts.”

Taylor Luna, Derrick Legacy Team Real Estate Agent for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“We bake cookies on Christmas Eve and read The Night Before Christmas before putting cookies out for Santa.”

Courtney Walker, Derrick Legacy Team Real Estate Agent for Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—”We open presents on Christmas Eve in my family and have Santa for the little ones on Christmas Day.  We have appetizers and enjoy socializing with each other around the fire.  My favorite time of the year!!”

Billie Stefansky, Real Estate Agent, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“I attend Christmas Eve church services, listen to Christmas music and gather with friends and family.”

Leah Speer, Real Estate Agent, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living–”On Christmas Eve, the children open pajamas and a book.  On Christmas morning, we all open one gift at a time, taking turns.”

Teresa Graham, Real Estate Agent, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“We play Christmas games, bake Christmas cookies, and spend time with family and friends.”

Joyce Busnardo-Manno, Bookkeeper, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“Our
Christmas tradition is to buy a real Christmas tree every year.  Me and my son also make a new Christmas ornament each year.”

Michelle Forrester, Customer Service Sales Representative, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“Me and my son get in my big bed and watch one Christmas movie.  Then, we eat desserts and later, we have dinner and open presents.”

Rebecca Turner, Customer Service Sales Representative, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“Some of our favorite Christmas traditions are to see a Christmas show and drive through The Great Christmas Light Show at the North Myrtle Beach Parks and Recreation Center.”

Travis Corriher, Real Estate Agent, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—“We make an annual trip to Boone, North Carolina the weekend after Thanksgiving to pick out our Christmas tree.”

Crissy Sciascia, Office Manager, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living—”We watch Christmas movies and have hot chocolate in front of the Christmas tree.  We also make garland for the tree out of candy and popcorn.”

Theresa S. Skidmore, Administrative Assistant, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living, “One of my favorite Christmas traditions is to get up around 4:00 a.m. on Christmas morning, so I can go to my son’s house before the children get up.  I let myself in and go back to sleep on the couch to wait for the children to get up to see what Santa has brought.  Afterwards, we open family gifts.  Later, we have Christmas dinner.”

Whether you have funny family Christmas traditions or unique Christmas traditions, they are special to you and yours.  We at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Elliott Coastal Living wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
