Halloween Along the Grand Strand

It is that time of year again and there are many events taking place around Horry County that you might enjoy attending. Most of them are free which makes it even better. Grab your friends and family and have a very scary time by joining in the fun of Halloween in Myrtle Beach!
October 13 – 27, 2018, Weekly on Saturday:
Thompson Farm— Candy in the Corn Trick or Treat Trail at Thompson Farm! 1625 Bucksville Drive, Conway, South Carolina, 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. It is for all ages and registration is not required. You can purchase tickets on their website @ /thompsonfarmandnursery.com. Come in costume for some early Halloween Trick or Treating! Join Pippa the Pumpkin Princess and some of her friends as they pass out the best treats in town while you make your way through our Kiddie Corn Maze! Characters like Mickey or Minnie, you just never know who you’re going to see along the way! This activity is included in their general admission.
October 19 – October 27, 2018 Weekly on Friday and Saturday Nights:
Southern Palmetto Farms– Halloween Fright Nights, 2601 Garner Road, Aynor, South Carolina, 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. This event is for all ages and registration is not required. COST: $10 Fright Night Admission, $8 General Admission (if not participating in the haunted Fright Night). Come out to experience a spooktacular night! Kids can play up front as normal without Halloween Fright! However, the atmosphere is sure to change as you feel the adrenaline rush when you go through the NEW scary wooded trails, and new haunted Corn maze! It’s dark! It’s spooky! It’s Fright night on the farm!
October 26, 2018:
Bass Pro Shops—Halloween Event , 10177 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Registration is not required, and it is free for all ages. There will be a free 4 x 6 phot shoot with a Peanuts Great Pumpkin Background. You will get a free picture, but if you really like it, there will be a $5 package available for purchase. A free Bat felt craft will be available as well. This event will be taking place in the mall entrance of Bass Pro Shops.
Risen Christ Christian Academy Trunk or Treat, 10595 Highway 17 N, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Registration is not required, and it is free for all ages. Trunk or Treating will begin at 5:30 p.m.
October 26 – 27, 2018:
Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach– Boo-Quarium Bash & Spook-Quarium Sleepover, 1110 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. Registration is required. Call 843-916-0888 for more information. There will be two events in one night. Go to one or both. The Boo-Quarium Bash is from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Bash ($15 plus tax General Public/$7 plus tax Annual Passholders) The Spook-Quarium Sleepover is from 8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. Bash ($15 plus tax General Public/$7 plus tax Annual Passholders) There will be food and games with a live DJ. Wear an awesome costume and enter Sharkee’s Costume Contest. There will be activities for the whole family such as face painting, trick-or-treating, crafts and more. The Spook-Quarium Sleepover will feature scavenger hunts, spooky stories on the Glass Bottom Boat, crafts, snacks and breakfast the following morning.
Ultimate Gymnastics Academy—Halloween Fun Gym Sleepover, 1310 17th Avenue South, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m. The sleepover is for preschoolers, elementary, and tweens, and registration is not required. The cost is 7pm-10pm: $15/child (4 years old and up) 7pm-12am: 25/child (kindergarten and up) 7pm-9am: $40/child (kindergarten and up). For more information, call 843-839-3547. It will be fun, spooky gym time. Be sure to dress in a costume and spend a night full of Halloween contests, games and drinks and snacks. Bring a change of clothes. Breakfast is included for all kids who sleepover. There will be pizza, snacks and drinks available for purchase.
October 27, 2018:
Broadway at the Beach– Myrtle Beach Truck-or-Treat, 1325 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This free community event is a hands-on, interactive experience for kids and their families to look, see, touch and ask questions. From emergency vehicles to trash trucks, big rigs and more, kids are encouraged to explore all the vehicles on display and trick-or-treat with all the vendors. Food, bouncy houses, carousel rides, a petting zoo and train rides will also be available. HORN FREE HOUR: 10 am-11 am, Enjoy all the fun of Truck-or-Treat without all the loud music, horns and sirens. COSTUME CONTEST: 12pm Get your number at The Sun News tent. Line up at the Quality Towing area at 11:45.
Town of Surfside Beach– Halloween Rod Run Car Show/Trunk or Treat, 115 Highway 17 North, Surfside Beach, South Carolina, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. This event is free for all ages. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. for participants. Trophies will be awarded at 3:00 p.m. Registrants, please bring candy for the kids to “Trunk or Treat”. Visitors, enjoy the free car show featuring classic and modern cars, and let your children trick-or-treat. There will be a DJ spinning music and food will be available.
Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum– Annual Dia de los Muertos Free Family Day, 3100 South Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Come by the Art Museum from 11am-3pm to enjoy art projects, Dia de los Muerots inspired talks, dances, games, lectures, music, Mariachi and so much more! All Day Festivities include: altar in honor of Mexican aritst Diego Rivera family workshops to create papel picado, sugar skulls, ofrendas “deadication” cards, skeleton craft bags and calavera masks marshmallow sugar skulls with Carolina Forest Library Spanish/English translation game sampling of traditional breads and hot chocolate face painting loteria musica children’s literature display with Chapin Memorial Library videos authentic Mexican food by Fiesta Mexicana Diego Rivera-inspired mural.
Barefoot Landing– BooFest! 4898 Highway 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Whether you have human kids or furry kids, BooFest! is the place to be for activities, costume contests and more! Musician, entertainer and DJ, Corey Holden, is this year’s emcee! Activities include an inflatable, pumpkin patch and a stiltwalker making balloons as well as Children’s & Pet Costume Contests. Registration for all contests begins at 11 am and continues until noon. Costume contest times and age groups are broken down as follows: Noon: Pets 1pm: 3 Years of Age and Younger 2pm: 4 Years of Age to 7 Years of Age 3pm: 8 Years of Age to 12 Years of Age Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in all three children’s age and pet categories
Grande Dunes Marina Park– Ghosts on the Coast – Halloween Celebration, 8201 Marina Park Drive, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. All ages are free as well as free parking. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs. Grand Dunes families, Myrtle Beach neighbors, and area friends are invited to a Grande Halloween on the water. . Crawl into your scariest costume and enjoy live music, delicious local food available for purchase, street performers, carnival games and more fun for goblins of all ages. Enjoy lighted boat displays or enter the frighteningly fun costume contests.
Dave & Buster’s– Goblins & Games D&B Myrtle Beach, 1322 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. This event is for all ages. Registration is required, and the cost will be $24. There will be a lunch buffet, mini pumpkin painting, a costume contest, and the Million Dollar Midway! Each ticket comes with a $20 power card and Unlimited Video Game Play! Lunch buffet includes: Bar Burgers, Crispy Chicken Bites, Four Cheese Pizza Bites, Baked Mac & Cheese, Fries, and Unlimited Soda.
North Myrtle Beach Recreation– HOWL – O – SCREAM, 1030 Possum Trot Road, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. This event is for all ages and registration is required. COST: Adult (15 & up) $2, Children (5 to 14) $1, Children 4 & Under are Free (Price does not include Concessions) Goblins, ghouls and ghosts oh my! The North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex transforms into a safe haven for the thrill seekers of North Myrtle Beach. The Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with Coastal Carolina University’s Recreation Management class converts the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex into a spooktacular site for an array of activities to include hayrides, marshmallow roasting, trick-or-treating and much more. Scare free and Scare Zones offer a variety of excitement levels that is sure to satisfy all.
Garden City Baptist Church— Trunk-or-Treat / Fall Festival, 501 Pine Avenue, Garden City Beach, South Carolina, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. There will be Inflatable Slides, Moon Bounce, Food, Prizes, Games, Music, Trunk-or-Treat, and Good Times! Everyone is welcome!
The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk— Little Park of Horrors, Plyer Park, 1100 North Ocean Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. this event is free for all ages. Plyler Park will be transformed into LITTLE PARK OF HORRORS for our Halloween Musical Review! This event is family friendly even for your little goblins. An over the top fun musical revue featuring costumed characters and music from the 60’s, 70’s 80’s and 90’s. Free oceanfront entertainment for the entire family at Plyler Park on The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk!

Palmetto Pointe Church of God—Trunk or Treat, 3690 Palmetto Pointe Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Registration is not required, and it is free for all ages. Please come out for this annual community event. There will be lots of Trunks decorated to give out candy to Trick or Treaters!
October 30, 2018:
The Learning Center Socastee United Methodist Church—Trunk or Treat, 5575 Dick Pond road, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Registration is not required, and it is free for all ages. For a safe and friendly trick or treating opportunity, Socastee United Methodist Church is hosting Trunk or Treat this year! They will have a trunk decorating contest, prizes for the top three trunks, and plenty of candy for all the trick or treaters. If you do plan on attending, or decorating your trunk, please keep your costumes and decorations kid-friendly and gore-free. Thank you! Sparks Toyota– Sparks Toyota Halloween Trunk or Treat + Costume Contest! 4855 Highway 501, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. This event is free for ages ranges babies, preschoolers and elementary. Sparks Toyota is hosting their 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat! Come have some spooky fun! Children ages 12 and under can enter our Halloween costume contest! There will be prizes for the top three costumes! While you are trunk or treating, you can vote on the best decorated car! Employees at Sparks Toyota will have the chance to win a prize based on your votes!
October 31, 2018:
Broadway at the Beach— Trick-Or-Treat at Broadway at the Beach. 1325 Celebrity Circle, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Free for all ages and registration is not required. Bring your little superheroes, ghosts and characters to Broadway at the Beach and trick-or-treat at your favorite Broadway spots. Plus, don’t miss the Halloween Fireworks Extravaganza at 8pm!
The MarshWalk of Murrells Inlet– Halloween on the MarshWalk, 5025 Highway 17, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. This event is free for all ages and registration is not required. Festivities begin at 5pm with Trick-or-Treating along the MarshWalk for the kids. The annual Children’s Costume Contest is at 6 p.m. in front of Drunken Jack’s at the Pirate Statue. Prizes will be awarded for the Most Creative, Best Group, funniest, and Scariest for kids ages three and up. Kids ages two and under will compete for the Awes Applause award. Prizes include trophies, ribbons, and candy bags.
Barefoot Landing– Trick or Treat at Barefoot Landing, 4898 Highway 17 South, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. This event is free for all ages and registration is not required. Bring the kiddos all dressed up in their favorite Halloween costumes and enjoy trick or treating through Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach from 5pm – 7pm on Halloween night!
Ekklesia Christian Church— Ekklesia’s 1st Annual Trunk or Treat, 2469 Highway 501 East, Conway, South Carolina, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. This event is free for all ages and registration is not required. There will be trunk or treat, games, contests, prizes, inflatables, and much more!!! The Cooper House– Halloween Trunk or Treat at The Cooper House, 611 Dick Pond Road, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Free for all ages and registration is not required. They are looking to bring some cheer to our friends and families in the Socastee area who have suffered considerable loss during Hurricane Florence. Please Join them at The Cooper House for a fun filled night. No costumes required!
Coastal Grand Mall– Trick-or-Treat at Coastal Grand Mall, 2000 Coastal Grand Circle, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Free for all ages and registration is not required. Participating retailers throughout the mall will offer special treats to little ghouls & goblins in a fun environment. Be sure to stop by the Mall-O-Ween photo booth, located between the Food Court and Center Court, to get your picture taken! All children (12 and under) must be in costume and accompanied by an adult.
