Fun ways to get fit in Myrtle Beach

“You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

We’re over 7 weeks into our New Year Resolutions list for 2018. If losing weight, getting fit, or just having more energy was on your list and you have, ahem, put it off—it’s not too late to start now.  With a variety of interesting and dare we say, fun, ways to get fit these days, there truly is no excuse not to dive head first into this exciting new world of fitness.

Fit Body Boot Camp

This is a 30-minute personal training program that includes motivation, accountability, and dynamic resistance training. The workouts are high energy, fun, and challenging and they are modified to fit your individual fitness goals and fitness level. Each workout—and they change daily—is designed to burn maximum fat and tone your entire body in only 30 minutes. They also provide nutritional guidance and accountability for every single member.

The coaches utilize a combination of (HIIT) High Intensity Interval Training and Active Rest Training to get your body to burn more fat and calories than traditional workouts that are twice as long. Each 30-minute session is headed by an experienced and certified personal trainer.  Think of this trainer as your own personal coach there to help you modify workouts and motivate you to giving your best.

The dynamic group setting makes it more affordable than paying for a private one-on-one personal training session.  Not to mention, the benefit of having the accountability and motivation from the others in your class. No judgement here! Try: Myrtle Beach Fit Body Boot Camp

Hot Yoga

Hot yoga studios are popping up all over the country and the Grand Strand is not missing out. Be prepared to sweat in a room heated to over 90º for detoxification, strength, and breath awareness, this powerful class varies from slow-moving classes where you’re instructed to give long, slow stretches in held postures to faster moving sessions promoting endurance and strength.  Designed to burn a ton of calories and leave you feeling great, hot yoga will help you meet your goal whether it’s to lose weight, increase flexibility, reduce stress, increase your strength or just get healthy overall. Try: Real Hot Yoga Myrtle Beach

Aerial Fitness

Lose weight, get fit, improve your coordination, stretch and strengthen your muscles, and more while stabilizing your body in the air. Aerial fitness classes involve an aerial fabric or hoop where there is a full 360-degree range of motion.  Using movements based on yoga, ballet, Pilates, and the circus, aerial fitness allows for all fitness levels to begin somewhere. Through aerial fitness, enjoy the benefits of toning, strengthening, and lengthening. If you’re new to aerial, beginner classes introduce basic alignment, foundation, and specific muscle action so that the body can learn how to balance on aerial fabric. Pole Fitness

Wait! Don’t leave us now. Sure, the title seems risqué. And sure, you’re encouraged to wear 6-inch stilettos when you work out. But, let’s look at the awesomeness that is pole fitness.

A total body conditioning workout, you will be climbing the pole and holding yourself up, thus, building leg and arm strength like you’ve never done before. Certified instructors will make you feel comfortable and welcome as they teach you classes which often include more than just pole dancing, like ballet, ballroom, boot camp, yoga, and go-go dancing.

In an encouraging atmosphere, you will discover how much fun working out can be. You will find yourself improving your flexibility, agility, cardio endurance, and core strength. Most classes include a warm up and a flexibility cool down at the end.  Try: Wicked Fitness

Kickboxing Fitness

Burn fat, tone up and reduce stress by punching and kicking real heavy bags. You can burn up to 1,200 calories in just one hour-long class. These kickboxing classes are for both beginner and advanced levels, so each person can work at their own pace. There is always a knowledgeable trainer on hand to assist and offer instruction on technique. Increase your cardiovascular endurance and get strong in this full-body workout that targets all of your muscle groups. Try: CKO Kickboxing

Crossfit

Varying functional movements performed at high intensity, CrossFit workouts are a touch of running, gymnastics, weightlifting, rowing and core training. The theory here is the more work you do in less time, or the more intense the effort, the better. High intensity exercise yields results that you just won’t see even when spending a sweaty 45 minutes on the elliptical. Another reason CrossFit is so popular is the idea behind a group effort. J.C. HERZ  wrote for Time Magazine that “Doing something physically intense and difficult binds a group of people…There is a primal magic in going physically all-out with a dozen people.” Try: CrossFit North Myrtle Beach

No matter your fitness level now, if you’re wanting to lose weight, improve your health and have fun…you’re not just stuck with the treadmill at the gym. Get on out there, take a chance, give one of these fitness centers a call today!
