Experience a Celebratory Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day—Its Not Blarney!!

The Grand Strand will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day from North Myrtle Beach to Murrells Inlet on March 17, 2018.  Come join us for the festivities as we pay homage to the Irish Heritage with Irish-themed parades, festivals, costume contests, bonfires, car races and more.  So many events are taking place on St. Patrick’s Day that you might have a hard time choosing which event to attend.  Below are some of your choices:

St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival, North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

The 30th Annual St Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival has become the event to attend on Main Street in North Myrtle Beach bringing approximately 30,000 people to the Grand Strand to celebrate and welcome the coming of spring.  The North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2018 starts at 9:00 a.m. on March 17, 2018 with the festival immediately following the parade from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  There will be three stages of live entertainment, a children’s area with rides and amusements and 150 vendors will be displaying their crafts, services, products and food.  There will also be a Leprechaun Contest and a Shepard’s Pie Eating Contest, rain or shine on St. Patrick’s Day North Myrtle Beach.

9th Annual Irish Fest, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

The Irish Fest will be held at Valor Park in The Market Common from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on March 17, 2018.  It has now become an annual tradition in Myrtle Beach with Irish food, great beer, live entertainment, vendors and kid’s activities such as face painting, inflatables, balloon art and much more.  Live entertainment will include Mike O’Donnell, The Paul Grimshaw Band, The Jebb Mac Band and the Conway Celtic Pipers.  The Irish Festival Myrtle Beach is a great family outing with something for everyone.

Luck of the Marshwalk, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

Luck of the Marshwalk will take place on the famous Murrells Inlet Marshwalk from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  There will be live entertainment, drink specials and Irish cuisine from the various restaurants and bars that line the Marshwalk.  Dress up in your best green costume and collect a colored coin from each restaurant and bar for a chance to win the prize of $1,000.  There will also be secret Leprechauns wandering through the crowds giving out colored coins to their favorite costumed participants.

St. Pat’s Bonfire, Little River, South Carolina

La Belle Amie Vineyard is well known for its Saturday Bonfires and Music Festivals, and St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated with St. Pat’s Bonfire from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on March 17, 2018.   Enjoy the afternoon filled with live music, wine tasting and Irish festivities in a relaxed setting surrounded by grape vines.  There are plenty of seats in the covered areas or you can bring your own chairs.  Admission is $5 per person, but the price is reduced to $3 per person if you bring 2 canned/dry good food items for the area food bank.

St. Patrick’s Day 300 Race, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach Speedway located at 455 Hospitality Lane will be hosting the St. Patrick’s Day 300 Race from 4:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. on March 17, 2018.  It will be featuring NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Models (NWAAS), NASCAR Whelen Modifieds, Chargers, Super Trucks & Mini Stocks.  The Feature Race begins at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.  Other events are:

  • Myrtle Beach Speedway 2018 Points Season Opener
    •NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour 2018 Season Opener
    •Friday March 16th Open Practice to all Race Teams
    •Saturday March 17th Qualifying & Feature Races
    •Features a total of 300 combined laps of racing

    •Pit Gates Open 9am (Friday July 13 2018 Practice)
    •Pit Gates Open 9am (Saturday July 14th 2018 Qualifying & Feature Races)
    •Grandstands Open 11am (Friday July 13th 2018 Practice)
    •Grandstands Open 2pm (Saturday July 14th 2018 Qualifying & Feature

Above are some of the larger St. Patrick’s Day events that will be taking place on March 17, 2018.  There will be lots of celebrations along the Grand Strand in many of the restaurants, bars, and nightclubs, so put on your party shoes, and come join us to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
