Bistro 90 – A Hidden Jewel and a Local Favorite!

An upscale restaurant with outstanding cuisine and a romantic atmosphere, Bistro 90 has become a favorite among the locals, serving classic Italian dishes, prime cuts of beef that are aged on site and the freshest seafood.  Also included on the menu is hand-tossed, authentic, New York style pizza.  According to JohnW, this hidden gem deserves five stars:

“The hidden Gem in Myrtle Beach. Without a doubt the closest to a “5 Star” in the area. Everything is prepared with excellence, prime steaks are the best anywhere. All of the menu items are authentic and delicious. Don’t forget the pizza, probably the top for Myrtle Beach!  Easier to find than it seems but well worth the 10 mins off the beach traffic to find this excellent Bistro!  Roland and his staff really are very professional and attentive!  No disappointments ever!”

John calls Bistro 90 a hidden gem because it is located on Highway 90 in the small community of Longs, South Carolina, an unusual place for a restaurant, but the location has not hampered Bistro 90’s patronage.  Due to the excellent quality of the food that is used to prepare the delicious entrees, it is so busy that reservations are recommended although not required.  Ninety percent of the diners are locals that come from as far South as Pawleys Island and as far north as Shallotte. “The service was superb and the food was out of this world. I highly recommend for a spectacular dining experience. You will need to make reservations, because this place is very well known with the locals.”

Bistro 90 owner, Roland Sciotto, prides his restaurant on using only the finest ingredients to prepare his menu items.  He and one other restaurant on the Grand Strand serve only U.S.D.A. Prime beef.  According to Roland, “Steaks and chops have become our signature items, as we are the only all Prime Steak Restaurant on the Grand Strand to hand cut all of our dry-aged, boneless steaks to order.  We serve only the finest, freshest seafood available, delivered daily from certified waters….   We are proud to offer local and organically sourced farm to table items from South Carolina and North Carolina.”  Due to the careful selection of ingredients and preparation of his cuisine, the customers are raving about the food and recommending Bistro 90 highly as GeorgeK is below:

“The best upscale restaurant in Myrtle Beach.   We had dinner there a few times last year starting with New Year’s Eve. Their fish specials are always top notch.  We have had tile fish, trigger fish, and black grouper.  Every meal was served with sauces and sides that matched the fish perfectly.   For Mother’s Day we all had different types of steak.  I can honestly say they were cooked just right and they were the best steaks served at any restaurant we visited in the last few years.   You cannot go wrong with anything ordered at Bistro 90.”

Bistro 90 is not only getting accolades from customers, it has earned several outstanding achievements such as the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the past six years.  According to the owner, “A deep International wine list makes pairing any of our dishes with the perfect bottle of wine an easy and pleasant experience.  If you’re not sure, our knowledgeable staff members will guide you in the right direction.”

Bistro 90 has also been rated 4.9 stars by Open Table and Trip Advisor as well as Top 3 restaurants in service and Top 3 Steakhouses in the state by Open Table.  The Bistro 90 staff prides themselves on giving excellent, professional service and according to PatrickC below, they are achieving their goal:

“Had a truly outstanding meal with great service. I can highly recommend the Ribeye steak. Had a 20oz cut and it was seasoned perfectly, was cooked exactly as ordered, and melted as soon as it hit my mouth. Definitely up there with one of the best steaks I have ever had. My wife had the chicken Marsala and said it was very tasty. My son had the Chilean sea bass, which he said was very good.  The homemade carrot cake was delicious. I recommend a date night here, but keep in mind that you get what you pay for, so don’t go in thinking you are dining at the Old Western Sizzler with prices to boot. Good quality food and service as it should be, at a fair price”

Bistro 90 also has a full gluten-free menu as well as vegetarian and vegan options.  All of their dishes are prepared to order and they are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions.  The Chef prepares lunch and dinner features that change daily that will delight any palette.  Bistro 90 is only 10 – 15 minutes away from most locations along the Grand Strand, and the tourists are beginning to find their way out to this local hot spot as WalterH states below:

“Our family was visiting the beach and was told about a great steak and Italian fare spot 6 miles inland…Man, are we happy we took the advice.  Dry-aged steak, even the famed Tomahawk ribeye, foie gras, carbonara, and pork-belly wrapped scallops.  This place is the “real deal”!  The service was friendly and spot-on and the owner checked on us several times and offered a friendly 12 yr balsamic dipping sauce for our steak.  Don’t skip dessert; the homemade Red Velvet Cake & daily Creme Brûlée We will be back whenever we are nearby!  Thanks Bistro 90!”
