8th Ave Tiki Bar & Grill– “Good Vibes! Good Food! Good Music! Good Times!”

Located on the oceanfront, at 708 North Ocean Boulevard, in the heart of the historic downtown Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, 8th Avenue Tiki Bar & Grill is the place to go if you are looking for a festive atmosphere with good food and delicious cocktails while enjoying a panoramic ocean view.  You can sit inside surrounded by the tropical decorations, or sit outside and enjoy the newly-added deck with great ocean views and people-watch.  The 8th Ave Tiki Bar reviews below seem to agree:

Tradewinnz—”Nice atmosphere with a great view!  This is a nice place to stop and grab a few drinks and a tasty snack. The view of the ocean is great, and the wait staff is very helpful. Our server Cait was very nice and friendly.”

Jesscruick—”Boardwalk Beachfront Fun! Very cute oceanfront bar & grill with lots of seating indoors and out. Wait staff friendly and fast! Beer was warm but they were very busy for CCMF weekend. The food yummy. Great hang out!”

The 8th Avenue Tiki Bar & Grill also has great food, and everything is prepared in house.  They have something to satisfy everyone’s pallet with a menu that is divided into several categories—Starters, Wings, Salads, Chicken, Burgers, Steaks and Seafood, Skewers, Pizza, Sides, and Desserts.  Their 8th Ave Tiki Bar and Grill menu is extensive, but the wait staff is friendly and always ready to give suggestions.  According to the review below, they are on point:

Deanne37—”Short but sweet!  Stopped in to quench the thirst, and to watch the ocean view. Ordered a couple of drinks and decided on our waiters (Tyler’s) recommendation of a cold shrimp cocktail. Tyler is the reason why this place is rated a five star, he was very attentive, and has exceptional people skills. The atmosphere was very welcoming and a lot of fun.”

If you are looking for something a little different, you could try one of their specials such as the house favorite 8th Avenue Schnitzel, which is pan-fried chicken with honey mustard, or their adult Mac & Cheese, a deep-fried wonder served with spicy dipping sauce.  Another great choice is the Hawaiian Island BLT with grilled shrimp, smoked bacon, sliced avocado, lettuce, and sourdough bread, or the Guinness Burger, which has an 8 oz. patty topped with Guinness-caramelized onions and white cheddar.  According to AaronI, the coconut shrimp are huge and tasty:

“The wife and I wanted to go walk the Myrtle Beach boardwalk and decided to go eat oceanfront at 8th Ave Tiki Bar & Grill. We sat outback to watch the people and listen to the ocean for our dining experience. The wife wanted coconut nut shrimp (which are 20% off during happy hour). The shrimp were HUGE and came with a very flavorful dipping sauce. I ordered a Asian Chicken salad she ordered the chicken schnitzel wrap. 8th aves salads are packed with very fresh, very tasty greens with a nice helping of chicken, sure to help fill even the hungriest of customers. The chicken schnitzel wrap is a regular favorite of ours. Don’t get discouraged from the word schnitzel its just pounded breaded chicken but packs huge flavor. Last but not least the french fries that come with the schnitzel wrap deserve a mention, they have some kind of crust thats on them when they get fried making one memorable french fry. 8th Ave Tiki is one of Myrtle Beach’s restaurant gems!”

With fantastic scenery inside and out, a selection of more than 50 beers including new seasonals each month, specialty cocktails with an island flavor, and delicious appetizers, it is the perfect spot to stop in for happy hour and a bit of relaxation.  According to the Breakers, “This oceanfront bar on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk hosts happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. every day of the week. “8th Ave,” as locals call it, offers $2 domestic beers, $3 well cocktails, $4 house wines and 20 percent off appetizers, including $5 Loaded Cheese Fries and $9 Calzones. The patio deck features excellent views of the ocean and of tourists roaming the Boardwalk.” They also have a specialty drink, “The Jeffrey” which is a shot made from 18 different liquors, light beer, OJ and sprite if you are brave enough to try it. The reviews below sure had nice things to say about the happy hour at “The 8th”.

Jkgeter—”Absolutely loved it!  I had the best shrimp po boy I have ever eaten. Everyone loved their food. The drinks were great too… Had a pina colada. It was a little over priced for the drinks … But they all are at the beach. We ate outside and watched the waves on the ocean … It was so relaxing and beautiful!”

TimK—”Beachfront happy hour!  Watched the sunset over the ocean while sipping rum and eating nachos. What could’ve been better? The service and location could not have been better.”

CassidyB—”On my boardwalk bar hopping adventure, I really enjoyed this place! The staff was eccentric and fun, the business was clean and well decorated. The drink options were ample.
They had a long list of specialty drinks. They also have a souvenir pineapple cup, which generally houses a house specialty drink, and allows you to take the cup home. However, if you would like, they will make any drink in the pineapple cup and you simply pay for the cup. I did not partake.  I ended up ordering a drink from the menu called a “Painkiller.” It resembled the one at Cheddar’s, but I actually enjoyed this one more. It was very well balanced.  Since I was bar hopping I did not order a second, but I would have.  I did not order food, but the menu looked great.”

The next time you are in the mood to relax, enjoy the ocean view, have a bite to eat, and are near the historic Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, stop by the 8th Avenue Tiki Bar & Grill located at 708 N Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577, and give them a try.  We think you will be glad you did
