Family fun for all at the Horry County Fair sponsored by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and its subsidiary, VisitMyrtleBeach.com. In a press release, Brad Dean, President and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce said, “We are very pleased to partner with the Myrtle Beach Speedway and sponsor the Horry County Fair. Horry County is a very special place, and it’s appropriate to take the time to celebrate our community at this family-friendly event.”
The Grand Opening of the 3rd Annual Horry County Fair at the Myrtle Beach Speedway located at 455 Hospitality Lane, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina will be on April 20, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The Grand Opening will celebrate Student Night with all students 17 years of age and under receiving free fair entry from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Horry County Fair, which used to be held at the Horry County Fairgrounds off U.S. 17 near Loris, returned after a three-decade hiatus in 2016 to the Myrtle Beach Speedway, a 48-acre property. At that time, Steve Zacharias, general manager of the speedway, said, “Having the Horry County Fair here at the speedway for 2016 is what we hope to see become a long-standing event here in the community. This is the opportunity for us as a local business to give back to the locals who have been supporters of the speedway for over 50 years.”
The newly formed Horry County Fair at Myrtle Beach Speedway featured demonstrations, displays, vendors, free live music, a petting zoo, a 4-H display, children’s educational activities, and a midway put on by Strates Shows Inc. There was also thrill rides, carnival foods, prize winning games and concert events of established bands and newcomers. The speedway offered incentives for local charities and schools to come out during the ten-day event to build community involvement and give back to the locals as well.
Apparently, Steve Zacharias’ hope that having the Horry County Fair at the Speedway become a long-standing event is on its way to fruition. The second Horry County Fair at Myrtle Beach Speedway in 2016 was successful enough to have a 2017 Horry County Fair at the Myrtle Beach Speedway. According to the organizers 90,000 people attended in 2017 and that number is expected to grow in 2018.
The fair is in it’s third year at the Myrtle Beach Speedway and the Horry County Fair 2018 dates are set for April 20 – 29, 2018. According to Robert Lutz, President/CEO of the Speedway, “We plan for it to be another year of amazing family fun-great food, rides, games, shows and more. And as Horry County’s only fair, we hope everyone plans to come out and be a part of that excitement.” It appears that the official Horry County Fair Myrtle Beach South Carolina site is well on its way to becoming the Myrtle Beach Speedway.
Strates Amustements and Myrtle Beach Speedway plan to give the fair attendees a bigger and better fair than every before. There will be more rides, games, food, arts and crafts, exhibits, shopping, NASCAR Racing, petting zoos, family entertainment, live shows, music, and much more. There is a great lineup of attractions, shows, and Myrtle Beach fair rides. Some of the attractions will be Little Big Shots Kids’ Karaoke, Robinsons’ Racing Pigs, Comedy Hypnosis Shows, Rick’s Canine Angels, A Mini-Divas’ Fashion Show, a Kid’s Dance Party, and meet and greets with Chase, Marshall and Olaf. Unlimited ride wristbands are available for the thrill seekers who want to ride everything, and Kiddie rides are available for the little ones.
The NASCAR Racing Experience will be open all week during the 3rd Annual Horry County Fair for the racing enthusiasts to enjoy such as Race Practice and Race Qualifying on the Speedway as well as Driver Meet and Greet on the front stretch. This sounds like a great opportunity for you to fan out with your favorite driver. You can ride or drive in a real NASCAR Race Car, and the NASCAR Racing Experience offers Pace Car rides for the kids too! So exciting!!
There will be live music every day with the Horry County Fair 2018 Concerts with some great artists. Three Legends in Concert Tribute artists representing Bruno Mars, Tim McGraw, and the Blues Brothers will be showcasing their talents in concert. Some of the other concerts will be by Oracle Blue and Under the Sun. The Horry County Fair/Myrtle Beach Fair 2018 certainly has a lot of good times in store for you and your family at a great price. The Unlimited Ride Wristband is $25. Admission is $5, Kids 4yrs and under are free and Seniors 65+ are $3. If you have a Military ID, admission will be $3 as well. Parking is free on site.
