The 2018 Mythical & Medieval Fest—Where Fantasy Becomes Reality

Located at RH Acres, 3833 Socastee Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the 5th Annual Mythical & Medieval Fest will be held on November 10 – 11, 2018.  This Renaissance Festival 2018, staged during the days of chivalry, is for a very noble cause—to raise money for Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams.  Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams is local non-profit in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina that provides positive activities to children that have been abused, abandoned, or neglected and reside in group homes or shelters.

You can turn back the hands of time and step into the Village of Shadow Bay at the Mythical & Medieval Fest.  To make the experience as authentic as possible, get into the spirit, and dress up like a knight or damsel, try your hand at axe throwing,  or pull up a hay bale and listen to the strolling minstrels play their instruments and sing.

As you are transported back in time by this mythical festival filled with fairies, knights, pirates and their swashbuckling crew, you can see how it might have felt to live in that century by participating in the archery, walking among the artisan market, and watching your children play renaissance games.

Your children will enjoy the Butterfly Pavilion with fairies, goblins and wizards.  There will be face painting to turn the little ones into magical fairies and beautiful princesses along with other whimsical activities.  If you are too old for the Butterfly Pavilion, you might enjoy the belly dancing, fortune telling, ax throwing or Viking toss.  There is something for every member of the family to enjoy.

Grab a turkey leg and visit the local merchants as they hone their crafts.  Watch the glass flow as the glass blower turns a piece of glass into a beautiful pendant, blacksmiths create works of art out of metal, and a wood worker craft a fine bench.  New this year is mounted archery and combat demos by the knights.  The evening will be ended with a fire show finale.

This two-day event is fun for all ages, but you must leave your “fur babies” at home. Gates open at 11:00, and a one-day event ticket is $10 for each adult and $5 for children 4-11. You can also purchase a VIP Pass for $75 each.  The VIP Pass provides you a leather cuff, meet and greet with the Queen and other cast members, two-day pass for the festival, two drink tokens for the tavern, preferred parking, 10% off at select vendors, and other gift items.  It is a rain or shine event, so there is not a refund policy.

You can go online and buy your tickets at or buy them at the gate.  If you choose to buy your tickets at the gate, it is cash only.  Round up your family, dress in period garb, and head on over to the only Renaissance Fair in Myrtle Beach.  You’ll have a jousting good time.  Fun for all!!
