2017 Mythical & Medieval Fest of Myrtle Beach

Have you ever yearned to experience the days of the knights of the roundtable, when fearless men donned their armor, mounted their brave, armored steeds and rode off into battle with swords and battle axes to defend their king, lands, and fair ladies?  What was it like to return to their castles to be rewarded for their chivalry with gifts of land, gold, cheering crowds and celebratory medieval festivals?  Now you can have a taste of the same experience by attending the Myrtle Beach Renaissance Festival.

The 4th Annual Mythical & Medieval Fest of Myrtle Beach will be held on November 11-12 from11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The Medieval Renaissance Festival will be located at RH Acres, 3833 Socastee Boulevard, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Once you enter the Medieval Realm of Fantasy, parents can put their shillings away, because everything inside the Children’s Realm is included with your paid admission.

Once entering the Medieval Village, filled with princesses, a fairy forest, medieval combat, an artisan’s village area, a fire show, and so much more, the whole family will be able to participate in free activities like the Viking toss and archery.  You can watch blacksmiths form a bracelet from hard steel, listen to musicians play their flutes or strum their guitars, and watch glass blowers form beautiful pendants from melted glass.  Of course, you will be sitting on your Medieval thrones (bales of hay).

Don’t forget to wear a Medieval costume, because everyone in the mythical village is a character, and you will want to blend in as you eat your turkey leg.  There will be lots of food options for the entire family, as well as, Medieval games and challenges to try.

The adults might want to try their hand at ax throwing, watch the archery on horseback or the whips and knives as they enjoy the Carolina Renaissance Festival events in Myrtle Beach.  The children will have fun meeting knights, pirates and Vikings as they play with fairies and participate in various renaissance games.  They can also see stilt walkers roam around the courtyard and have story time with the Baroness.

We haven’t forgotten that we promised you an opportunity to experience Medieval warfare, so here is your opportunity.  If you are brave enough, there will be a patron tournament this year.  To go into battle, one must sign up with Fiat Lux Knights, and the winner will receive a hand-forged item from the Phillip Simmons Blacksmith Guild.  All of the proceeds raised from this event will go to Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams to benefit their children.

Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams is a local 501©(3) non-profit in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina  that provides positive activities to children that reside in group homes or shelters (formerly known as orphanages) that have been abused, abandoned or neglected.  The proceeds from the 2017 Mythical & Medieval Fest of Myrtle Beach will go towards funding outings, trips, gifts, and crafts for the children.

With only a week left, now would be a great time to make plans to attend a Renaissance Festival SC 2017, the only one in Myrtle Beach, the Mythical & Medieval Fest of Myrtle Beach.  Remember to dress like a Medieval Knight, Lord or Lady, bring your imagination and go out and support a great cause, Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams.  Happy jousting!!
